Head for the Sentier du Grêbe huppé for a 2.4km hike to discover the local flora and fauna. No fewer than 102 species of bird, 200 plants and 29 species of dragonfly are waiting to be discovered.
The highlight of the walk: the Étang grand de Pulvédières, a 16-hectare mid-mountain pond.
Practical info: the Sentier du Grêbe huppé (Crested Grebe Trail) starts from the pond car park.
On the heights of Volvic, discover the impressive silhouette of the Château de Tournoël. This fortress was built between the 11th and 16th centuries at an altitude of almost 600m. The view over the Limagne cereal plain and the green hills of the Auvergne is breathtaking.
Practicalities: you can park your car in the château car park. A 3km itinerary invites you to explore the site.
